Its timber is heavy, very durable, very hard, strong and can be somewhat brittle. It isn't a recognised tonewood, but has been used for heavy and light construction, such as fence post and railway sleepers. it is presently listed as a vulnerable species.
Back Bracing System - Live Bracing Design
This system increases the backs interaction with the soundboard during playing, resulting in a fuller more complex sound. The Bracing has been made to fit a 20ft Radius, which increases the stiffness and structural integrity.
Soundboard – German Spruce (Picea Abies)
This Spruce has super fine and very straight grain. It is noted for it fast response with very clear and crispy sound and has a good dynamic range, can produce high volume without distortion. It has a very light, creamy white colour. It is a wonderful tonewood that usually has a great stiffness to weight ratio.
Soundboard Bracing System – “King Billy Pine Falcate.”
The soundboard bracing system has been made to fit into and was assembled in a 40ft radius dish, which increases its stiffness and structural integrity. Falcate (Sickle shaped) Bracing is made of strips of King Billy Pine, laminated into sickle shapes that are radiused to 40ft. The Bracing tops are then profiled and the top tuned. This radiused and curved symmetrical bracing system is of low mass and is incredibly stiff.
Bridge, Headstock and Fretboard - Indian Ebony (Diospyros ebenum)
Indian Ebony is an exotic wood most ordinarily native to southern India and Sri Lanka. it's a particularly hard, dense, and serious tropical hardwood, with an awfully fine texture. The heartwood may be a uniform pitchy or it will be black-brown streaky. Indian Ebony is somewhat troublesome to work with hand and machine tools owing to its irregular grain pattern, however is great for wood turning and carving, also as inlays, tool and knife handles, door knobs, piano and organ keys, and instrument wood.

The Nut has been slotted to suit the as fitted Strings. The Nut is also a firm fit; a small amount of CA glue has been put under it to hold it in place while changing strings.
Strings – Worth 'Brown Fluorocarbon'
Finish - High Gloss Nitro Cellulous Lacquer
A hardwearing lacquer that is chemical resistant and easily repaired. Approximately 20 coats of Lacquer are applied over a 10-day period, after a week curing time, the lacquer is hand levelled using wet/dry sandpaper, micromesh pads and finally buffed to a mirror finish.
