The Sides stay in this mould while the Kerfed linings, and the tail and head blocks are fitted.
In some cases the front and back are also fitted with the side still in this mould.

Side Bender for Full size Guitars. Capable of bending both sides together.
Used in conjunction with Temperature Controlled Silicone Heating Blankets.
The sides are prepared in a package containing the thicknessed sides wrapped in wet brown paper and then
wrapped Alfoil. With spring steel shim on both sides.
A Type K Thermocouple is placed into the side package which is connected to the controller housed in the base section.
There's a separate controller for each side.
