Wenge is an African wood, with high density and extremely stiff. It is quite dark in colour, being near black after finishing. It has fine brown stripes which can give interesting grain patterns. Makes a great guitar, clear with good note separation and long sustain. It is somewhat porous and finishing can be a challenge, but well worth the effort.
